Graduate & Undergraduate Benefits

The Unite with Business programme provides paid work experience opportunities within North West Small to Medium sized businesses until 31/12/2012, through supported knowledge exchange utilising graduates and undergraduates to deliver skills, knowledge and resource into business in the form of short term business engagements.

The programme is open to graduates, post graduates and final year undergraduate students that reside within the North West area.

• All graduates or students, regardless of university of origin, are eligible to apply for the opportunities.
• The project will pay an individual to work within a business on an agreed task or project for a maximum of 150 hours at £6.00 per hour (subject to Tax & N.I deductions at the appropriate rate). Should the project require additional hours the cost will be met by the participating business and paid directly to the individual at a rate of £6.00 per hour.
• Work placements provide valuable, work related skills in areas that are relevant to your chosen career and/or experience to date. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your personal skills i.e. team-working and communication skills, which will be of benefit when seeking future employment.
• Undergraduate & Graduate benefits include: work relevant to area of study, access to new contacts, possible employers, chance to develop and demonstrate abilities, skills, knowledge in practical environment, exposure to and understanding of the workplace, CV material.
• International Students must check that they are allowed to work in the UK - if you are not sure you can seek advice from your local Social Security Office. You must have a National Insurance Number to enable payments to be processed.
